Bath bombs can be used in many ways, based on the ingredients you are using in the bomb. The essential oils used in bath bombs enhance them, making them multipurpose.
Coconut Oil Bombs
Thanks to the rich content of the fatty-acid in coconut oil, it has been using in skin care products as the great hydrating and moisturizer for skin.
Ingredients
- 8 tbsp. Beeswax
- 10 tbsp. Coconut oil
- Bath salts
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1 tbsp. Cornstarch
- Citric Acid crystals
- ½ cup Water
- 1 tsp. Vitamin E Oil
- Witch Hazel (optional)
- Food Coloring (any color you may want)
- 15 drops Lavender Oil
Directions
- Take a small skillet and add the beeswax to it. Place it on a medium flame to ensure that the beeswax melts.
- Add the coconut oil to the skillet and stir the coconut oil and the beeswax well to ensure that they blend.
- When you find that the coconut oil and the beeswax have mixed well together, remove the skillet from the gas and allow the mixture to reduce to room temperature.
- When the mixture is cool, add the lavender oil, drop by drop using an orifice. You will now have to ensure that the mixture has combined well. Set the mixture aside and mix the baking soda and citric acid crystals in another bowl.
- Combine the two mixtures and add the remaining ingredients to the mixture.
- Ensure that the consistency of the mixture is smooth. You may have to keep stirring and mixing to make sure that it is smooth.
- Make the mixture into balls, depending on the size of bath bomb you would prefer. Coat the balls with Witch Hazel and leave them to rest overnight.
- Transfer these balls into an airtight container and store at the place without direct sunlight.
Lavender Bath Bomb
Ingredients
- 10 tbsp. Citric Acid
- 2 tbsp. Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp. Lavender Oil
- 2 tsp. Jojoba Oil
- Bath salts
- 1 tbsp. Cornstarch
- 1 tsp. Vitamin E Oil
- Witch Hazel (optional)
- Food Coloring (any color you may want)
- 1 cup Water
Directions
- Take a small glass mixing bowl and ensure that it is clean!
- Add the citric acid and the baking soda to the bowl and mix well. Ensure that the acid has mixed decently with the baking soda.
- Add the lavender oil and the jojoba oil one after the other to the bowl. Start mixing the contents. You have to make sure that there are no lumps that have formed when you are mixing the contents.
- Add the water into the bowl and begin to mix the ingredients well! You will need to mix the ingredients well till a fine paste has formed.
- When the paste has formed, make balls and set them aside to dry overnight. Make sure to coat them with the Witch Hazel to prevent any air bubbles from forming on the surface of the bomb.
- Once they have become hard, you could transfer the bombs into an airtight container. You will need to keep this container in a dark and cool place.
- When you are filling your tub with warm water, add one of the bombs to the tub. You will find that the scent from the bomb has left you feeling refreshed.
